BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance

This programme is delivered by British Management University, in Tashkent. It is validated by Queen Margaret University. Successful graduates receive awards from both universities.

The Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Accounting and Finance is an applied degree programme. Upon completion of this programme, students will be able to find employment locally at both private and public companies in financial and non-financial sectors of the economy, or continue their education or start careers abroad. The programme is aligned with ACCA qualification requirements, and students get support in their preparation for ACCA exams while studying.

Admission criteria

Admission to the BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and BSc (Hons) in Banking and Finance is primarily gained through completion of the One-year Foundation Programme developed in collaboration with the University of Reading.

Admission Requirements for the Foundation Programme

To enter the Foundation Programme, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • be 17 years of age or older by December 31 in the year of registration;
  • present a Certificate of Secondary Education approved by the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan ;
  • present a valid certificate of an IELTS test (International English Language Testing System) or equivalent with the overall mark of 5.5 or above.

Admission Requirements for the BSc Programmes

General Requirements

Applicants must also satisfy one of the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of the BMU Foundation programme or equivalent International Foundation programme;
  • Successful completion of the first year of an undergraduate degree course at a recognised higher education establishment; or
  • Any other equivalent qualification allowing entry to a UK higher education undergraduate course (e.g., International Baccalaureate).

English language requirement

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • An IELTS score of 6.0 or another English Language Test recognised by BMU; or
  • Completed their secondary education through the medium of English and gained grade C or above in GCSE English or its equivalent; or
  • Successfully completed an appropriate International Foundation programme with a pass in an academic English module or equivalent.

Mathematics proficiency requirement

Applicants must hold:

  • GCSE pass in Mathematics or equivalent;

In addition to the above,Ìýapplicants must also have one of the following:ÌýÌý

  • Pass in Quantitative Methods I module on BMU Foundation Programme or equivalent; or
  • Pass in BMU Mathematics Entrance Exam

Age requirement

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age by the 31st of December of the academic year applied for.
